    I have a zafira, 1.8 Elegance 2000 Build. I have recently experienced a
problem with the engine which does not show up on the computers at vauxhall,
so they can not rectify it. The problem is the engine cuts out on pullin up,
this does not always happen and the engine does restart without any
    problems.

    Thanks for any help.

Have you had the throttle body cleaned?

Snap! Same car, trim level, year, (mines X-reg) same problem, same solution.
(does yours also slightly over-rev when you dip the clutch? that can be
another sign the throttle body needs a clean)

Same model here, same problem. According to my TIS disks field remedy
1590 is the one that needs doing, clean out throttle body, open out a
hole in the manifold and update the SW. Guess the last bit isn't DIY:-/

I have the same problem on my X reg (Opel) Zafira. Brought it into
Vauxhalls and they say the Throttle body needs replacing - they didn't
    mention cleaning!

It's booked in for next week but I obviously don't want to pay for a
new throttle body if I can get my exsiting one cleaned. Any advice?!?

    Cheers,

    Rod.

Yeah, take it somewhere else! A Vx place should know this so they are either

    a-incompetant
    or
    b-dishonest.

They may even be both, but ask yourself if you really want to trust them?

Thanks for the advice, Mike. I really hate using Vauxhall dealers now
since they always quote sky-high prices whenever something needs
doing!! On an X-reg it just isn't worth paying anymore...

    I'll take it elsewhere!

   )
