My Zafira is coming up to the 40K service interval.
I've been noticing the clutch biting point getting higher recently.
What is a reasonable clutch lifetime for a Zafira? I know this is a
bit of a daft question - depends on how it is being driven.
Also I guess the garage will check the brake pads and disc thickeness.
Anyone know what the disc thickeness should be, and the limits?
I'd rather not be ripped off for new discs if they're not needed.

Well my wife's Zafira is coming up to 100K and still on the original
clutch. YMMV of course. In terms of brakes not sure about the figures,
but her Zafira has just had both front and rear disks replaced, this
was the second replacement of front disks, the rear were the originals.

Mine is coming upto 62 k and I am going to put one in soon as the biting
point is quite high and it is getting heavy. It has had a tow bar fitted
with twin electrics by a previous owner so I guess it has done a bit of
    caravan towing in it's life.

If there's a significant difference between the worn part of the disc
and the outer edge then they're pretty much screwed. Most discs these
days don't allow for a lot of wear.

Front discs start off life as being 25mm thick - min thickness is 22mm.
Rears are 10mm new with a min of 8mm.
These are figures for "ordinary" Zafira - not a GSi.

Plus the material used in the friction lining of both shoes and pads these
    days
contains a lot higher metal content than in the old days when they had lots
    of asbestos instead.

Upshot of this is that discs and drums are pretty much a consumable item
    these days.

Have a look at kwik fit to see if they still do brakes with lifetime
    guarentees.
