Took my 4.5 year old zafira in for a interim service at a Masterfit garage
and was told that it should have a new cambelt fitted, (has done 40K miles)
Looking at my Vauxhall service book this recommends a change at 80K miles or
every 8 years. Any thoughts ??

yep, vauxhall issued a warning about all their cambelts a few years back
    get it done now.
& the rollers, tensioners, idlers etc etc that are all on the belt.
if the water pump is also on the belt, get that done as well

I have no idea why Vauxhall have not changed the service books but 4/40 is
correct. It is annoying but necessary.

Hi Zahid, did they give a quote for the belt change. If 4 years is the norm
then my 1.8 will be due before too long.
