Is there an easy way to check brake pad thickness on a Zafira?
I guess taking the wheel off is the obvious way!
Old style, Life model, diesel. I don;t think it has wear sensors.

Anyone know what the minumum thickness is please?

I seem to recall for the MOT "less than 1.5mm" but I don't know if
that includes the backing plate! Otherwise it's pretty much as long
    as there's enough left.

Yes, use your eyes to see.

The haynes bumper book of jokes says:-

Minimum pad frictional material thickness 2mm, for front & back.

They don't have wear sensors only acoustic sensors (i.e. a bit of metal that
    rubs on the discs).

Since I have never heard one I can't tell you what they sound like when the
pads have gone (as opposed to the normal high pitch squeel they always
    make!).
