    Need opinion on this.

On cold start, the MIL blinks when cranking. After a few cranks, the
car starts, MIL stays on, car runs but limping.

Had the battery removed, reset the codes with tech2, and the car starts
    again, runs smoothly.

On next cold start, MIL blinks, and no start again.

Codes are Present P0700, Not Present P0606, Not present P1600, Not
present U2103, Not present U2105, Not present C2103.

Mechanic suspects it's ECU. Car at shop now, awaiting my instruction
    to order a replacement ECU.

Is it the ECU, or could it be something else?

    Thanks in advance.

Isn't it still under warranty or has it done more than 60k?
It must be an auto with these codes in it.
which ecu are you thinking of, engine or autobox?
P0700 is on because there is a fault with the communication between engine
and box. U2103 and U2105 are both communication codes, again the two ecu's
    aren't talking.
P0606 is an interesting one - description is - Control unit
re-initialisation. This is classed as an ecu problem or it could be the coil
    pack interfering with it.
P1600 - replace or reprogram ecu - don't read to much into this as it could
be the ecu not knowing what is going on.
All this doesn't really help you - sorry. But personally I would think twice
before ordering any ecu's. Could be something as simple as a bad connection
or chaffed wire. Has your dealer gone through the Vauxhall checking
    procedures?

    me140,

I'm in Malaysia. Warranty only up to 40,000 km. The car has 44k++ km.
Zafira is branded under Chevrolet here. I'll make sure the garage go
    thru the checking procedure.

    Thanks for your input.

    i'd go with me140

pull the connectors first give them a spary of switch cleaner (not WD40!)
    then see if it persists.

    3 plugs to look at
First one is a 12 pin one (3 rows of 4) under the centre console towards
    the front.
Second one is behind the glove box - it is a huge one that goes through the
    bulkhead.
Third one is a long flat one near the washer bottle top.
These instructions are for RHD but I guess plugs will be similar for LHD
