think i'm going to have to bite the bullet and change the tappets in my
X20XEV (95 cavalier Sri) anyone advise on this job i'm lead to believe its
a cam out job to change and a royal PITA

obviously its going to be a timing belt and tensioner as well when cams are
dislodged anyone suggest anything else to try and quiet down these noisy
tappets? btw it seems to have gotten worse since i had it flushed and
changed the oil and filter. thoughts guys?

I would take the sump off first and make sure the oil pump pick up isn't
    partially blocked.

would this cause the tappets to rattle like a bas( seems only to be one or
    two that are causing this

If you flushed it lumps of carbon and other such cr*p can collect in the
sump and them get sucked up into the filter on the oil pump pick up pipe.
Cheaper and easier to take sump off for a quick look than buying a load of
tappets just to find it doesn't cure it.

Yep; my tappets quitened down considerably ( X20XEV Omega) after having
    the oil strainer cleared out.
