    Hi all,
Can anybody please tell me if there is a product and or method of removing a
large scratch from a car windscreen. My old Cav "J" reg with tinted front
screen has just failed it's MOT because of a large, wide scratch to the
front screen. The scratch may well have been done by some grit or abrasive
substance in some mud thrown up by a tractor or lorry here on the
Lincolnshire roads. It is an arc across the screen which probably varies
from 1 to 2 inches wide and leaves an opaque finish to the screen. Is there
a cutting / polishing compound fro glass which might get it out?
    All sensible suggestions gratefully received.
    Many thanks

  4. Hi,

Steve Knight is quite correct, Brasso will improve scratches in glass. Don't
expect miracles though, as he said elbow grease will be needed by the tub
    full :)

    Hi all
Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I guess I have nothing other than
time & effort to waste by having a go with Brasso, so Brasso it will be.
On the upside it might help to make the MOT repairs acceptable!
Thanks again for comments and help
    Robert.

Brasso is too coarse - you will cause "fogging".

No it isn't and no he won't. I've it on glass dozens of times.
