My girlfriend has a 1994 1.2 Vauxhall Corsa. The is loads of yellowy
coloured gunk in the oil which I can only assume is water. However
the car does not over heat and doesn't really use any oil or water.
The only problem is that it does chugg a bit every now and then. Any
ideas on the problem? I was thinking the head gasket but there are no
oil/water leaks externally. any help/advice appreciated.

When you say "in the oil" do you mean all over the filler cap?
Cars suffer from this emulsion like stuff when they do short journeys -
caused by cold air passing over hot engine, you get condensation in the
engine - cars doing short journeys never really dry it all out - you get
lots in rocker covers. If the car isn't using any water or over heating
don't worry - give it an oil change and use quality oil.

As long as it stays above waist height and away from my you-know-what I can
    cope.

She only does short journeys anyway because I normally end up doing
all the driving in our house! So that could be it but she has been
complaining of the car chugging and cutting out?? I serviced it only
a couple of thousand miles ago plugs, leads filter the lot. I'll
change the oil again and see if it makes any difference. Not today
mind because i've got a bad head, my hangovers affected my whole body
it's like i'm learning to walk again i keep bumping into things!
