how old is the vectra you should be able to reprogramme it yourself unless
    its a new key altogether.

Ya don't have to go to a garage, read the f+++ing manual!
If ya don't have one, go to the Vauxhall website and get it online.

    Blimey...

    Hi,

There is a difference between reprogramming the key (which has to be done by
a Vauxhall dealer for about £28, I've just had one done for my Astra), and
synchronising the key (which you can do by youself sitting in the car).

Just as a matter of interest the Vauxhall dealer will plug a hand held
computer into the diagnostics socket of your car, press a button which tells
the car to accept the new key signal, and then he will bugger off for a cup
of tea. Takes about 10 seconds costs £28. What a cracking bargain.

Vauxhall will need the new key and your car - it is the cars 'computer'
which is reprogrammed not the key.

    So there ya go.

Was that necessary? - asking for information is what the newsgroup is about,
and that's what this poster has done. If you do not like it, the keep quiet,
there's no need to be offensive.

Vauxhall manuals are not available on line. A dealer can order one for a
    modest cost.

Excuse me, are you italian? If you are, I don't think you're allowed to say
    'Blimey'...

Opel/Vauxhall TIS is easily available on the net.
    There is no better manual.
