    Hi,

My vectra's cambelt failed a week ago after only 16,000 miles. The garage
that fitted it in 2003 (along with the other bits around it) say the fault
is nothing to do with them. Does anyone know if the manufacturers (Gates I
believe) have any warranty for these parts? As far as I know Vauxhall state
that the part should last longer and recommend the change in about 40.000
    miles for example

    thanks for any help

    Roy

the only chance of recourse would be an examination as to what has failed
    or caused it to fail.
a faulty roller or tensioner or water pump if proved i would think should
give you good cause for atleast a discount or better depending upon what is
    found.
a good look at the belt won't go amiss either.

    good luck

The garage what did your work should off put a cambelt kit on but don't for
get labour carries 3 months warranty and the parts should be 12 months.I
now only fit cambelts kits on cars now if a customer wants just a cambelt on
then I will not do it.its not worth it

    hope this helps you

ps the garage should look after you I now if it ever happened to me then I
    would repair it
