Is there a fully compatible MP3 CD player that can replace my 3 year old
Vauxhall CD player that came with my Zafira? Is there a specific Vauxhall
    version.

    TIA,
    Mike.

  2. Don't think so. I haven't seen a single car manufacturer fit mp3 compatible
players. It really defeats me as I think cd players and multichangers are
now a thing of the past.

  4. Oh well, they've go to offer some kind of incentive for people to buy their
    cars!

Can't to be too hard on Kia personally, my first car was a J reg Kia Pride
(formerly Mazda 121) and although spec wise they were very poor (no power
steering on any of them), it was extremely reliable.

Kia's have inproved in the last few years but if you drive a Pride and then
the Vauxhall equivalent (the Nova and the Corsa) you know almost straight
away why they didn't quite hit the mark.

Still, I agree that CD Changers are going out and MP3 players coming in, so
it can only be a matter of time before Vauxhall follows suit.

Is it still VDO that supply Vaux with their radios?

  6. I've no idea who supplies them now, but didn't it used to be Philips? I
changed my original one in my Omega for a Kenwood mp3 player and fitted some
infinity Kappas as the originals started to buzz. With the mp3 player it's
so easy to make up compilations and 1 cd will play for up to around 14 hours
    which is really convenient.
I was being a bit tongue in cheek about the Kia's. They are probably not
bad cars and of course cheap to buy, and they're probably no less reliable
if not more reliable than alot of others. It's just that they do tend to
depreciate so quickly, but if you're not paying much for them in the first
place then what does it matter really.

standard. CD70 Satnav, colour screen and second CD player with MP3.

  10. Your local Vauxhall dealer has an Aftermarket one that will slot straight
    in.

Thanks. The choice seems to be

    1) CD773 with steering wheel option and remote display but only telephone
    mute
    2) CD2803 with steering wheel option and telephone in/mute but (it seems) no
    remote display

Item 2 is best, but I don't like the loss of the standard display :-(

    Ah well....
