    Hi,
I was wondering if there is anyone out there that can help me.I own a 2001
Vectra which has the CCRT700 tuner/tape/cd/phone head unit. I have acquired
a Trafficmaster unit after being advised by Trafficmaster technical dept
that the unit will just be a 'plug and play' item on all Vauxhall units
including and above CAR400. However, when I came to install the unit I found
that the audio plugs are different on the Trafficmaster 'loom' and the rear
of my head unit. Does anyone have any idea if the Trafficmaster is
incompatible with the CCRT700 head unit or if there is another 'loom
adapter' available. I have spoken to Vauxhall who referred me to
Trafficmaster... who in turn referred me to Vauxhall !!!

    Thanks in anticipation.

I have the same radio/phone in my Vectra (2000/X). The trafficmster unit
is fitted - although I hav'nt licenced it yet.
What I can see of mine consists of a button that sticks out of the dash
with a "T" on it. Is yours the same or are there different types I wonder?

Thanks for the reply Dave. At least I know now that the Trafficmaster will
work with the CCRT700. I'm pretty sure all Trafficmaster oracles for
Vauxhall are the same... with the button in the dash with "T" on it....there
is actually a "m" on it as well but it's in red and may be harder to see. It
must be a plug/socket change on the back of the head unit/vaux audio loom
that's different on my motor..... but for the life of me I can't see why.
    Any
Vaux tech's out there that can shed some light on the subject ??

These were mostly dealer fit and all dealers should remember how to do it.

I think there was a small loom section to fit but it certainly wasn't a
    difficult job.

I would visit your local dealer and ask them.

Thanks Alan. I actually have the loom and yes,I agree,it would be a very
easy job if only the block connectors I have with my traffic master loom
mated to the block connector on the back of the ccrt700 and the block
connector on the vehicle audio loom. I have spoken to Vauxhall who referred
me to Trafficmaster who in turn referred me to Vauxhall. I'm therefore
    stumped at the moment!

When you say you spoke to Vauxhall I presume you meant head office at Luton.
I meant talk to a dealer who actually fitted them.

I will check on TIS to see if there are any fitting instructions.

I have talked to one of my techs who says there were no fitting instructions
    because it was so simple!

He says the loom always fitted into the back of the stereo although
sometimes there was insufficient room in the cage for the wires and it had
to be tucked through it with the cage removed.

Sorry if this contradicts your findings.

For your info, the aerial should be fixed to the top of the glovebox and
    kept as flat/straight as possible.

Yep sure is simple. If I had cdr500 in my car the job would have been
completed in less than 10 minutes! However I have the ccrt700 which has a
different block connector than the lower spec head units. Thanks for your
help anyway Alan. I'll do like you say and grab hold of a tech at a Vauxhall
    dealership.
