The prices you have quoted are surprisingly cheap, however I am not ready to
buy. I will probably buy in January/February but I definitely bare you in
mind. Thanks for the quotes.

I bought a second hand 1.6 SRi last Thursday from the Great Trade Centre in
London. For those who don't know it's supposed to be the biggest collection
of cars in one place (apart from the M25) in Europe.
They probably had around 50 Astras and only one SRi. Ex motability, 19K on
the clock, superb condition. Got to say it's a real drivers car. Driving
home to Cambridge was a real treat, road holding and torque really
impressive. I would reccomend this car without doubt.

With only 19k on the clock i can only assume its 12 - 24 months old

I cant remember a 1.6 version of the SRi in the last few years.

Surely you mean the 1.8 SRi which you say is an OK motor.

Ex Motability means it is probably 3 years old although there are early
terminations occasionally. 19,000 miles is typical of an ex-motab car
although SRi Astras are very rare on Motability.

Are you 100% sure it is an SRi and not an SXi? There is no 1.6 SRi
listed on Parkers car price guide site (www.parkers.co.uk).

I know they made a 1.6 Sport but was never aware of a 1.6 SRi. Maybe
someone has been playing with the badging?

Ooops, meant SXi not SRi....sorry, anyway as I said it's a very nice car to
drive.
