    Can anyone help?
I have a 03 Vauxhall Astra SXI which Judders from time to time, when
this happens accelerating appears to control it, however if thats not
possible it cuts out, then takes 5 minutes to return back to normal.
When tested by the AA and garage it shows no fault! Bit scarey on the
    motorway though!

Can anyone shed some light on it? Car is going back into garage on
    Thursday to be checked..

    Hello Kay......
Not at all sure that this is the answer to your problem BUT .....
some years ago I had an old Cav and mysterious judderings happened to that
some very serious and nothing seemed to cure it. As you say it was a matter
of resting it up and it then ran ok - until the next time - which might have
been 6 months down the road. RAC attended on a number of occasions, pulled
    the codes and found nothing!
Eventually, one nice rainy day, it failed - fortunately I had a spare relay
with me, so I pulled the fuel pump relay and replaced it - Job done! It
went once more in almost 200k of motoring. Supposedly a common problem on
some Cavs - but I would have thought they would have sorted that type of
problem by now on modern cars?
Just a thought and a pointer.
    I hope it helps.
    Good luck

    Kay,

I have had the same trouble with my ten year old Cavalier. It has the 2
litre 16v Ecotec engine. The fault as you describe has occurred four times
since last October but nothing for two months. The engine management
warning light does not come on and my usually very reliable Vauxhall dealer
tells me that it could be one of a dozen censors. They confess they do not
know where to start and do not want to put me to the expense of paying for a
guess. Last time in May they had a play with the air flow controls and I
must say it has been OK since then.

    Regards.

    Dave.
