Timing chain on 5 year mokka

    Hi
    just wondered if any one had experienced this problem with there Mokka.
    Took our car in for its service yesterday only to be told that the timing chain needs to replaced!! as you can imagine this has come as a great surprise as the car is only 5 years old done about 42k miles and has a full service history with Vauxhall.
    Does anyone know how long these are meant to last ???
