snow flake?

    stoopid question, i know.....but?

    just bought a vectra 2.5, what does the snow flake on the dash do?

    any help greatly appreciated

    In this weather, you could be asking about the snowflake that appears next
    to the temperature readout. You will see it when the temperature gets to
    3.0 or lower (3.5 in newer models, apparently). To quote from my manual,
    "To warn the driver that the road surface may be icy, when the temperature
    drops below 3 C the symbol * appears on the display."

    I initially thought of this and the snowflake by the auto gearshift too but
    decided that he would have said 'by gearshift' or 'by temperature display'.

    I am pretty sure it was a snowflake on my Astra GSI next to the manual
    gear stick to disable the traction control, although it is a TC in a
    circle on my vectra 2.0.

    And a snowflake button on an auto box switches winter mode on and off.
