Signum 3.0CDTi not starting

Discussion in 'Signum' started by Phil And Liz Collins, Feb 15, 2005.

  1. Hello, all,
I'm the proud owner of a Signum 3.0CDTi, which i'm very happy with -apart
from one problem. Occasionally, it refuses to start. You get the "spanner"
symbol (not flashing) in the rev counter display, it turns over, but
doesn't start. If you leave it 10 minutes it does, and the display is blank.
My dealer is stumped -he says it's logging no codes in the ECU.
Anyone got any ideas? Any way I can escalate this within Vauxhall.

    Thanks, Phil

It sounds like an immobiliser or alarm fault to me but these would show
    a code up on Tech2.

If your local dealer cannot assist I would talk to another dealer.
Providing they are not disputing the problem the deealer should be
    happy to investigate.

If it continues talk to Vauxhall Customer Care.

One idea might be for them to lend you a decent courtesy car and for
them to do a few miles and test it. Is the problem predictable or is it
so occasional they ar eunlikely to experience it?

It's very intermittent -it can go for 2 weesk without playing up, then
fail 3 times in a day. The dealer finally managed to capture an error
at the third attempt with Tech2 -something like p01066, I think it
was, which is an engine ECU failure. It's now booked in to be looked
at next week. Hopefully, they'll sort it out this time.
    Thanks for the reply,

    Phil
