I have just had my 2.2L Vectra into the main dealers in Milton Keynes for its very first service (1 year service). When I collected the car after the service I checked the oil before I left thedealer (A Ford main dealer once managed to put far too much oil in my previous car making a right mess after I drove it - I have always checked the oil immediately after a service ever since!). The oil did not look new to me. I pointed this out at the time to the manager, but he insisted that it had been changed and that new synthetic oil looked like that. I was not convinced. The invoice stated that semi-synthetic (SG/CF) oil had been used. Is this correct, or should it be synthetic? I have now noticed that the wheel trims have not even been removed. (They still have the exact same distinctive tie wraps as were on before the service). I would have expected them to be removed to check the brakes as part of the service. My newly acquired TIS CD states:- "Disc brakes : Remove wheels (mark rim position to wheel hub) and visually check lining thickness." as part of the service. Is not removing the wheel trims the norm? I am starting to think that I have paid £140 for a stamp in the service book and nothing else. Thanks for any feedback. Ken.
