paint colour code

    hello, im wondering if anyone can tell me where the colour code is on a 2002
    astra hatchback?
    its silver in colour, ive found a number in the car documents quoting 944
    don't know if this is correct as ive been to accessory shops and cannot find
    it listed, hoping someone can help me out, cheers

    The chassis plate on Vauxhalls used to be on the slam panel by the
    bonnet catch - paint code listed under "color" but on my new model
    Zafira it is a sticky label on the B pillar by the driver's front seat
    - on the painted front face of pillar covered by door when closed.
