Omega Brakes

Discussion in 'Omega' started by Tim Bloomfield, Apr 14, 2005.

  1. I have a '99 2.0l Omega and experience brake shudder when braking from about
50mph upwards. The pads are all OK and the front discs have only done about
10k. Anyone had a similar problem or may know any likely causes?
    Thanks.

could be hot spots on the disc(s)
    try reseating the pads first.

jack each front wheel up and see if you have a cracked disc. shouldnt, have,
but its a simple thing to check.
alternatively, go to a fast fit place and tell them you think you might have
a cracked disc, and can they have a look. they might try to sell you some
new ones, but ask to be shown first.

Could be worn suspension components, like the wishbone bushes.
