Did you Know that when you take your car for a service at Vauxhall garage
they use cheaper oil then you would buy of them over there country and you
pay more for the cheaper oil

Don't know about that, but I've just tried to get my local branch of
Budget to do an oil and filter change on my 1996 2.0 Vectra. They
refused and told me that they weren't allowed to do oil changes on
Ecotec engined Vauxhalls because the oil they use (Mobil 1, I think),
isn't suitable for these engines. Only genuine Vauxhall oil is
    suitable, according to Budget.

I can't imagine that my 7 year old, 102800 mile Vectra minds these
days what oil it gets fed with............

And Kwik fit didn't have a filter and National had the filter but were
too busy (last time I tried them they didn't have any oil!)

    Sigh.

I don't know that my 170k 2.0 Ecotec Vectra has ever had Vauxhall oil!

Seems to be managing quite well without it

You obviously have experience of one Vauxhall dealer but I would be
surprised if this applied to many.

We use either the Vauxhall semi-synthetic or the Vauxhall fully synthetic
oils. Both are as high quality as any other of the premium oils and cheaper
    than a lot too.

Having said that, you don't need to use Vauxhall oil in a Vauxhall. Just
make sure that you use a decent quality semi-synthetic (or fully synth in
certain cases such as high mileage new Vectras).
