nova problem

Hi
nova 1.4i runs well but occasionally the engine management light comes on
for a couple of seconds and the engine judders as if it could cut out ..but
picks up and runs fine again. I only use the car for short journeys up to
about 10 miles and this seems to hapen when the engine is warm. I'm a bit
concerned it might cut out altogether sometime. now and then it is difficult
to start when warm.
any help advise would be great

pull the codes using the paperclip trick, but i'm pretty sure you'll find
it's the crank (cam) sensor

I' m a bit of a DIY man with repairs.
Does the crank (cam) sensor take much fitting?
