This reffers to the post that I have placed at the bottom of this page.
    Please help if you can.

OK... the I had the fault again last night... all symptoms as before but now
    I read the Code.

The code is 34 - Which reffers to the The MAP sensor. - Low voltage.

Do you think it will simply be a case of changing the MAP sensor?

Or do you think that this is just a sign of some other fault?

This time it happend during the day.. (For the first time) so I had a chance
to take a look at one or two other things.

There is no spark when I try turning the engine over, so when I previously
tried pouring fuel into the throttle valve, I think it was coincidence that
the car started. I don't know what to try.
I have already tried changing the ignition module, coil and the distributer.
this did not remedy the problem.

    Had a similar problem with a 1.2i.
Turned out to be the control unit. Lives above the glove box. Paid £50 for
    one from a scrap yard.

Didn't put any codes in. Everything else had been changed so it was all
    that was left.

no spark? the map sensor wouldnt kill the spark so it may be coincidence
that this is reading as a fault also.
what year and engine code? it could be the hall sensor in the dizzy if you
have an earlier 1.4, or maybe even the crank sensor, both of which will kill
    the spark.

Yeah... MAP sensor was a coincidence... The problem occured again since that
last post. I switched the MAP sensor, it made no difference. When I read
what the MAP sensor did, I doubted that it would be that. figured I'd try
    anyway.

The car is a 1991 Nova 1.4I C14NZ engine. (Single point injection.)
I also changed the Fuel pump relay.

The biggest problem is that it is so tempremental / intermittant. by the
time I get the thing to anyone that may have any idea. the thing decides to
start up again. I'd love to leave it with my garage, but there not going to
be able to drive around in the thing for ages until it cuts out again.
