New Front Bumper - 2004 Zafira

    Can anyone explain how to transfer the central air intake & fog lights unit
    from the old bumper to the new one ?
    I might need new glasses, but I just cannot se how it is fixed to the bumper
    !

    Are they plastic welded ( melted ) on?

  3. Sorry for the triple post - no idea how that happenend.

    I expect you must be right about the fixing, and I guess this is something I
    cannot deal with myself.

    Can't you just un melt the plastic to remove it and then remelt it onto the
    new bumper? Done it before a few times and it was fine.

  5. take off the plastic pins and use a hot glue gun for the other

    I'll mull over the problem and decide what to do, with your suggestions in
    mind.

    I wouldnt advise a hot glue gun. Because of the size of what you are trying
    to glue you will find the first applied glue will have cooled down and set
    before youhave applied enough toglue the whole component. Unless you have
    access to an industrial glue gun.

  9. The job is completed.
    I admit I bought a new insert, hot glued it to the new bumper ( it is only
    the pins which are individually hot glued, Mike), transferred the fog lights
    & number plate brackets and attached it to the car.What a flimsy bit of kit
    modern bumpers are !
    Job done.
