my car suddenly lost power .

    earlier today , i filled my car with petrol . afterwards , the car
    took some time to move . it shuddered for a while then cut out on
    four attempts .
    when it finally started moving , i noticed a severe loss of power
    ,notably in low gear and on turns . also , i detected a smell;
    something overheating ; hot metal ? the handbrake handle also feels
    unusually warm .

    I think your brakes have jammed on. Don't drive it another inch and get it
    towed to a garage or risk murdering your car.
