Multifunction display on Vectra

Hi all have a vauxhall vectra 2.9L LS - R REG

Just bought the car, had the multifunction display changed, eveything
works fine, when radio is on, i can see the time, temp and radio
station. but when i turn the radio off i should see the time, temp and
date (where radio station is usually displayed), but on mine all it
says is "program", does anyone know why?
i can program the date in, but it doesnt display
any help would be much appreciated

It needs the correct code index putting in. Dealer job I'm afraid. Did a

make sure the back connector is mating properly on all pins.
look for a splayed receptor on one of the pins.
it sounds like the 'back-up' power feed line is open circuit.
either that or the exchange(?) display is faulty.

when i went to a scrappy to get one for my r reg sintra.
the first one i tried did the same.

we found one of the receptor was rusted away, got another while at the
scrappy, all was fine.
thank god i tried it b4 i went away!

unit. what is a code index?
