I'm just starting on the road to 'pimping' my Vectra C 2.2 petrol (LS),
starting with an induction kit and stiffer springs.

Does anyone know the how much extra HP i should be getting from the K&N 57i
    kit?

I've got some Apex springs on order that are (according to the supplier) ok
to use with the standard shocks, but may shorten their life, any ideas on
    how much by?

Is this a serious post? How exciting can you make a Vectra LS look?

Yes serious question, it's not about looks so much as performance. If I
wanted looks i'd be talking about body kits and big shiny alloys.

At this point, head to www.cavweb.co.uk, they sniff petrol fumes over there.

(actually, a number of knowledgeable people over there, or at least,
    enthusiastic and experienced).

    Thanks, i'll take a look.

Fitted the Induction Kit on thursday, sounds great and gives much better
performance in the mid range, especially when dropping down a gear for
overtaking around 3000rpm it kicks ass.

Somewhere between "sod all" and "nothing" I'm afraid. Use it for the noise
or to dress up your engine bay, but as far as performance goes there are way
    too many restrictions.

    Many reduce output.
That's like asking how long they'll last. The ride will be harsh, perhaps
fillings-out harsh, and over some roads you'll have less grip.

Swapping springs and shockers at the same time is (in my opinion) well worth
    it...
