Mk4 Astra Headlights

Discussion in 'Astra' started by Dean Carpenter, Sep 29, 2004.

  1. Hi,

Does anyone know where I adjust the beam alignment on my 2000 Vauxhall Astra
Hatch? I know there is electronic levelling but one of my lights is lower
    than the other...

Also - what would cause the power steering not to "kick in" for a few
seconds after the egine has started? Its happened twice now and I just drove
off and the PAS came back.

Just above your head light on the front panel there is a rubber bung - pull
it out and slide in a philips screw driver into the head light adjuster.
Turn it one way for up and the other for down. Most garages will do this FOC
    if you ask them nicely.

Steering motor is fed from the alternator - no alternator output =no
    steering. Is your alt ok?

  3. Come to think if it, when I push both electric window buttons, the
headlights dim a TINY bit. My car has now done 100k...could it be alternator
    problem?
