Medium wave radio crackle [astra]

    Has anyone a permanent cure for crackle on medium wave .Only happens when
    vehicle is moving .TIA

    the aerial co ax has come loose at the aerial base.
    Gently lower the headlining below the base and pull the thick wire down
    until you can get to the foam covered joint. Pull the foam off and tighten
    the connection.
    Bit fiddley but only 15mins to do

    could be static from the tyres?
    try a staic strip from the car to the ground.
    can you pick-up very weak stations (very hissy ones, say on another portable
    radio?)
    #if u can't then it might be a loose connection at radio or aerial ends.

    My Vectra's radio crackles on long and medium wave, but perfect reception on
    FM. I tried the link but too late the previous post has been removed. Please
    would someone restate what the cure might be?
