Today I found out that the last time my car was serviced the mechanic forgot
to put my key back for the locking wheel nuts. So now I have a problem, the
local dealers is denying its there fault and tell me I need to have them all
broken off and replaced. I have the original box that the nuts came in which
has a number on the front, is this a key number? Can I get a key? Can
anybody suggest what I can do? Obviously I don't want to pay for their
    mistake.

As the other post says, your local dealer can easily get a key for you
    and it is not expensive.

I recommend that people remove the cars and put it with their radio
    code/key number card.

We recently had a car broken into and they were disturbed before
stealing the alloys. Unfortunately they kept the box and code number
and it cost us to remove the old nuts and replace with new ones in case
    they returned.

Any idea what these codes look like? I've looked through the bits of paper
etc and found a card that is approximately the size of the locking wheel
nuts box, it has FER something (can't remeber exact from memory) printed on
it but dealer tells me this is not it. What sort of number am I looking for?

I found the card and have now ordered a key from another dealer. Thanks for
    the help.

The best thing that i can suggest is that u go to motorsave or some
    where similiar and
buy the same ones as you had before as there all universal fit, it will
cost you but not as much as it would to have all ur nuts snapped off
    etc
