Saturday morning I went to put some diesel in the insignia. After paying and returning to the car it struggled to start. After 30 seconds or so it started so pulled away from the pump and very quickly cut out blocking the entire forecourt exit. Took another minute or so to start again and managed to limp it back home with no power steering chugging along in 2nd gear. Was running terribly.

Turns out the alternator belt had popped of. My mechanic had a look and replaced the tensioner, a pulley which had worn and of course new belt.

Now the car won’t start. Battery was dead so tested it and charged but still no luck. Turns over fine but almost seems as though there is no fuel.

I have just spoken with the garage today to check my transaction and I did definitely pay for diesel
