My wife has been told her [R] reg Astra 1.7Dti has
a leak from the injector leak off pipe.

Is it relatively simple or is it expensive to put
right, ie does need the injectors replacing ?

    Depends which engine.
    There are two.
Either the Isusu (SP?) or the Vx 1.7d.
The Vx needs a bit of rubber pipe (about £12) and an easy job.
The Issusu (we'll try a different guess on the spelling) needs a
fabricated pipe assembly. Easy to change, cost? pass, I don't know.

It' a GM, and thank's, a bit of piping is a lot cheaper than an
injector that I thought may have been causing the leak.

My wife was quoted £98 and told them to do the work.

When bill presented it came to...

    £10 for pipe
    £26 labour
    £6 Vat

    £42 total

Now I suspect someone didn't really want the job
so they over priced it, then felt guilty about the
    labour charge.

Did not have any problems with starting, the car had gone to garage for
something else unrelated and they spotted it.

Not complaining about that, better to do preventative maintenance
    that to fix when broke.
