I've just purchased an omega with an ncdr 2011 cd/nav system. When i
try to insert a cd, nothing happens. I've tried a little bit of force
but there seems to be something in the way. Has anyone got any idea
what the problem could be or how could i remove the unit to have a look
    inside?

    Thank you,

    Jiffy.

Silly question, but is there a disc already stuck in it? does the display
say (i think) cd in ?

I'm not averse to making copies of my own discs for use in the car. that way
if they get stolen or damaged its no great loss, but there are a lot of
pirate copies of cds out there -just visit any sunday market- that have
printed cd labels stuck to them. No one makes barge poles long enough for me
to use to handle these as I have found that under the right (ie wrong)
conditions the labels come apart and stuff up the player, be it an optical
drive in a pc or an expensive head in an ICE unit.(btw, the same argument
about labels also applies to dvd copies. good discs are printed directly
onto the disc, cheap and nasty ones have a sticky label. avoid.) Another
possible scenario is that a disc has exploded inside the unit. more common
in cars, especially where the disc can be tossed about in a door pocket,
glove box, centre console or on the floor. sometimes under the seats. All
places that No.1 daughter chooses to 'store' her music. this can easily
result in a cracked disc, followed by a bang and a "WTF" or even an "oops!"

It may have a CD stuck inside as already posted.

How old is the car? If it is under warranty a dealer can remove the
unit and get a service/exchange unit under warranty. Even if it is a
chargeable repair this might be the cheapest option.

If you know what you are doing the stereo is easily removed and
dismantled but I would not recommend it.

A dealer can easily remove the stereo for you but you will need to know
    the code.
