Heater problem in Fronty

    Hi,

I drove my mates up to Leicester in my Frontera (1994 petrol) yesterday, and
we all noticed that my heaters weren't working as well as they were last
    winter.

To be honest, we were bloody freezing! The air coming in (even lightly,
with the fans off) ranged from tepid, to actually quite chilled!

Can anyone offer advice on a good starting place to investigate (before I
start changing thermostats and ripping out the internal heater matrix etc?)

The pipes leading to the matrix from the engine bay seamed hot enough, and
there is water in the expansion tank.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Neil.

the pipes to the heater matrix should be as hot as those around the
    radiator,
probable untouchable after a resonable run, check this.

if that is fine i would suggest the heater matrix needs changing or atleast
    a good flushout.
though i must admit, most times the damage or blockage is unmoveable.

u could try a good radiator flushing compound first, b4 u take it out.

if the pipe in is not at the same temp as those around the radiator, after
trying the flushing compound, i'd plumb for a faulty thermostat.
