Filling up a Vectra.....

Discussion in 'Vectra' started by Danny Fishcharge, Jul 4, 2004.

  1. Hi

I have an '03 Vectra 2.2i and for the last 2 attempts at filling up,
have had to use a screwdriver to prise the metal bar down inside the
fuel delivery tube, just inside the nozzle to get the petrol pump
    nozzle out!!

First time it happened, had to call the AA out via VX assistance as
couldn't go anywhere as no tools on me; this is when the AA mechanic
showed me the problem. Thought it was just that particular petrol
station, so had it in the back of my mind for the next time I went to
fill up. Filled up again last night, and same thing happened -
    different petrol station altogether though.

It seems that the 'barbs' on the petrol pump nozzle are the cause, and
I am under the impression that now there are 2 rows of barbs on the
nozzles, and not just the one row there used to be....

Has anyone else had this problem yet?

    Cheers in advance
