    Hi all,

My '96 Astra TD aren't working. I've checked the bulbs and the fusebox and
both are Okay, all the other lights work as does everything electrical on
the car apart from the rear wash/wipe but I think that's a motor.

Has anybody got any ideas why only the reverse light are faulty?

    Any advice appreciated.

Probably the switch - unplug it and put ignition on. Short the 2 terminals
together with a paper clip or something - if lights come on switch is
    faulty.

You forgot to tell him where's the switch... Usually it's under the gear
lever cover. You don't need to unplug anything, just try to short the two
terminals together with an open paper clip.

    Cheers!

switch is on front of the gearbox - got 2 wires going to it - one will be
black, can't remember the other colour.
