Well, long saga. I was losing water but it was not evident from where. I replaced the header tank with a suspect cracking it. Appeared to cure the fault. 10mls down the road, warning light, engine temp. Stopped checked water,no water. Anyway cutting a long story short. It would appear to be a leak in the EGR cooler. Onlyevident whenthecarheats up and the EGR valve opens allowing the leaked water to flow into the exhaust gas recirculating circuit. Into local garagewhoconcurred with my findings.
EGR cooler £800, EGR valve £200 extral seals and gaskets the Labour, £300. Total cost £1500 and not even a Dealership. Apparently twice the price if I had gone to the dealership.
Not a happy bunny at being told by Vauxhall that these parts normally only last 60-80000miles.
    Anyone else had this problem?
