I have a 94 Cavalier LSi which eats power from the battery (to the extent
that the central locking will not work) when left for a copple of days even
after charging for 12+ hours. We have changed the battery for a new one as
well as the altenator. Has anybody have any ideas about what it could be?!

    Thaks for you help!

Light on? Check boot, glove box etc (feel if hot immediately on opening
    compartment)

Else, whatever's draining (poss alternator?) I think you'll need to go
    through systematically with a meter.

I had this problem with a Cavalier .. it turned out to be the lights in the
driver-side sun visor .. dodgy connection

sounds like a light is on somewhere
check glove box, boot, sunvisor etc etc.

the only way to 'really' find out the cause is..
if u can put a current meter inline with the earh strap (easiest)
or with the (lots) of wires from the (+) terminal!!
(DON'T FORGET U BREAK ALL CONNECTIONS TO A BATTERY
TERMINAL & REJOIN THE BREAK WITH THE TWO METER LEADS TO READ CURRENT)
sit someone inside the car & remove each bulb inturn

    & watch the meter.

if not, check things like alarms or even the alternator feed (soloniod)
radios have a habit of doing it as well.

I had this problem, it turned out to a faulty elec aerial in the boot, no
    problems once this was disconnected
