I have a Corsa 1.4 SRi F reg (new shape) and fancy putting a new engine in,
probably the 1.6. Is this possible? Do Vauxhall sell/fit new engines? What
are the likely snags? Advice needed, please.

Really confused with you saying its an F reg (would make it a mk1 nova if it
were so i'll presume its a typo and you meant maybe an R reg

easiest option is to sell it and buy a Gsi Vaux WONT convert it

other than that your looking maybe 3-600 pounds to source a complete 1600
16v setup for your car and allow maybe 8 hours to fit

other than that you could always go down the 2l 16v route piece of piss to
do as you can buy off the shelve conversion kits look around a grand for
all your parts (inc your brakes and suspension if 150 horses isnt enough for
you, you could always indulge in a 200+ bhp C20LET transplant although i
would have to advise that this is for those with a death wish as the torque
steer is immense in a 2l turbo nova/corsa. again its the same as a 2l 16v
conversion everything off the shelf and probably around 2k for everything
    you need

chat to a few likeminded types on mig

www.migweb.co.uk for a full run down on whats involved in the above
    conversions
