    Hi all,

I am wanting to know what Vauxhall stereos will fit my 97 Mark3 Astra CDX
with remote display? I currently have a CDR500 and would preferably upgrade
to a model that will control a CD changer. I have been offered a CAR400
which appears to have a "0" button - does this switch mode between
CD/cass/tuner once added? Will this drive my car's display?

Any help/advice appreciated (or anyone who's selling a second hand item!)

    Thanks.

Firstly, the only Vauxhall radio/cassette units that will power an
autochanger are the CCR600 and the CCRT700. The CAR400 will not work.
Unfortunately, both the 600 and the 700 are rare secondhand and virtually
impossible to get new (and are very expensive). The same applies for the
    Vauxhall multichanger.

Your best is to go for an aftermarket unit. By sheer coincidence, I can
    supply one of these!

Vauxhall recommend a range of VDO units as retro-fit options and the
advantage is that most will operate remote displays and steering wheel
    controls with no modifications.

One such unit is the P6441CED which I sell for only £300. It has a
    radio/cassette head unit and a 6-disc autochanger.

I will send you a picture of this via email.
