Changing Sterao in Vectra SRi...

    Hi,
    how important is it to disconnect the -ve lead from the battery before
    changing the head unit? I never did it with my cavalier but it's been
    reccomended that I make the effort but I've also read a few examples of
    people who's airbag went off when they reconnected the -ve lead
    afterwards... any thoughts?
