Hi, I'm considering whipping out the standard stereo (Philips Car 400) in my
'99 Vectra DI and replacing it with a Sony CDX S2000. Now, is it possible to
do this and keep the dashboard display working in any way? I could probably
live with the stereo display not working, but I'd like the other bits
(clock, temp gauge) to work. You can answer this in any way you like, I
won't understand much technical stuff, but I know a man who will ;-).

    Hello mate,
If you go into Halfords, they do an adaptor that works with Sony to enable
the dash unit to work as before, so i'm told.
Or try Vauxhall's main website, i think they do one themselves.
    Cheers,
    Ben

I fitted a sony head unit and cd changer to my omega and fitted an adapter
so that the steering wheel controls work. However at that time there was not
a lead available for the display so all that i get is date and time along
with all trip computer readings, The lead number was PC9 106 ( autoleads ).
Its an easy fit plug together and no tools needed.
