The Omega I purchased a couple of weeks ago (1998 Estate) has
developed a rather annoying fault in that the front passenger door
lock doesn't function properly. This started as a sometimes it would,
sometimes it wouldn't kinda thing and got progressively worse until
today I can't unlock that door at all - I can't even lift the button
    up from inside.

Is this a known problem and are there any suggestions as to what might
be the cause? If it's simple/cheap to rectify then I'd rather do it
myself than loose the car for a couple of days by taking it back to
the garage I bought it from.

    Any insights would be appreciated.

    Regards

probably the actuator sticking (solonoid bolt)
check previous threads for the problem with other vauxhalls, same answers
    apply..
relays, wiring looms thru door pillars chaffing, push contact pins across
    door corroded,

1st thing is to find out if the bolt is getting volts or not.
i'e is it sticking when told to lock/unlock.

might even be a separate fuse but i doubt it.

If it's anything like the Vectra problem I had you may need to change the
    Central Door Locking Unit.
Can be pricey. Need to strip the door trim down Haynes Manual for info.
