Boot lid

I am finding it increasingly difficult to properly close the boot on my 2005
vectra hatchback. Its been back to the garage for `adjustment` but a few
days down the line it wont close again. When you close it the latch does
not grip the loop and just pulls open easily.
It is possible to lock and unlock the latch with a pen when the lid is open,
and I have had a fiddle with the screw pads either side of the lid.

Any ideas or do I need a new latch?

Sounds like it - give your dealer some grief.

i'd go with that! esp if you have paid for it or it's under warranty.
    anyway....

put a piece of masking tape around the catch loop
open/close it a few times and this should give you a good clue as to why it
is not lathing by the marking on the tape
then adjust it's position by loosening the star screws and repostioning it,
    so it catches it properly.
just in case you are that way inclined.

Thanks for the tip, I hate waiting about at the dealer and wanted to avoid
it if it was an was an easy one. Anyway went up there this AM, waited (ho
hum) while a `block`was shipped over from another garage. It been adjusted
again and a new latch ordered.

    Cheers,
