Just had to change the spare on my Astra Estate - and have found the
disadvantage compared with my 0ld Cavalier.

That one had a nice expanded poly moulding that you dropped the jack and
other sundry bits into, and then just dropped it in the spare whhel well.

The astra, however - horrible PVC holdall just big enough to get the tools
into, and a tight fit into the spare whhel mounting bracket - under the
    spare ...
can you get at it in a hurry - nope
Can you get it out without breaking your back - nope
can you get the stuff out of the wallet when you do finally get it ot of the
    car - nope
can you put the whole s*****g thing back again - nope

My wife's old polo had a great idea - spare into boot face-down, clamp whhel
in place , put tools into plastic moulding and drop into spare wheel centre,
hold in place with bg rubber band.

Not quite as easy as the Cavalier, but much much better than the astra -

So - anyone know a way of holding the wheel and toolkit in the Astra a la
Polo - without butchering the car ?? (Nope, it won't fit into the first aid
    kit compartment ....)
