We have just bought a Astra 1.7 DTI Envoy with 55,000 mile on the clock.
Does anybody know what the service interval is for changing the timing belt.
If the timing belt is changed should you replace the idler rollers as well?

First of all thanks for the offer of finding out about the timing
belt. However when I had a read of the service manual (as the car
became mine because it was need diesel) it say in the manual the the
interval is every 100,00 miles. However if you rcon that this is wrong
here is a note of the chassis number and engine number.
    VIN WOLOTGF4835091107
Engine Number 0593125 (according to the service Booklet)

However I have another question that is totally unrelated but any info
is greatly appreciated. Do you happen to know what kind of key is used
for the central locking. I have replace the battery in the key fob as
every couple of the days the remote central locking stops working and
you have to reset the key in the ignition. I was going to buy another
key off e-bay but there seems to be two or three different types.

    Thanks Sheepdip

Don't you need the vehicles registration docs to get new plates made now?

  8. You can do that with every car that you see on the road and looks like
    yours.......
Also if you get caught either you pay the penalty of 15 years behind
    bars or you reconsider that.
Also if you will have a used engine or a chassis part that it has
declared stolen to the GM database then for sure you are........LOL
    So......................LOL

    Officially yes,

But you can get them made with all the details available at a small car
spares shop as some don't give a flying f**k about who has what for their
car as long as they pay.

As if that's going to stop anyone anywhere that has just read the post and
got all the info to clone another car.

You just made it a whole load easier for *anyone* in the world that wants to
avoid fines to be able to do that.

Perhaps replying to the OP by email would have been a more secure and less
open to abuse way instead of a public news server.
