hello all. can anyone help me with locating the air pollen filter on an 02
    1600 astra club?
also the car has done 17,000 genuine miles from new. do I change the cam
belt or wait until a higher mileage?
    thanks in anticipation

    I've changed the pollen filter.

It's easy to change - undo the torx screws holding the glove box in - take
the glove box out and the filter is on the bottom right hand side. When
looking at the filter you see the left hand side of it - undo the clips and
    pull it out - simple.

For the cam belt Vauxhall say 80k miles or 8 years, Haynes says 40k miles or
4 years- so uve loads of miles left..

  3. That's quite a difference. And Haynes wouldn't benefit significantly from a
    cambelt being changed early.
I wonder what attitude Vauxhall would take if a cambelt failed at, say,
75,000 miles (on a well maintained vehicle with no other complicating
factors involved). I assume cambelt failure on this engine means serious
damage to its internals, so it's not trivial matter.

(Seems to be a standard figure for a range of their vehicles.)

    8 valve is 80k and 16 valve is 40k

It's fair to say that a number of the original 80k intervals have been
revised by GM to 40k. For the price of it, I wouldn't take the risk. 4
    years, 40k miles.
