Astra G Automatic

    The very first automatic I had, an Opel Rekord, I had a pukka Opel workshop
    manual for it. Bloody great thing - cost a fortune. In there one of the
    tests for the box was to measure its 'stall speed'. Handbrake on, footbrake
    hard down, select Drive and floor the accelerator. The stall speed was the
    revs the motor peaked at.

    Any of the real Vauxhall whizzes here know if this is still an accepted test
    and if so what the stall speed of an Astra box is?
