    Hi all,

Just bought 2 weeks ago a convertible Astra. Right now i have some minor
problems wich i hope anyone of you can help me out.

    1. It has a standard alarm in it with just one button up in roof and a led
light. When i push the button it flashes for ten seconds and then go off. Is
    this beheviour normal ?

    2. When i want to horn ( or claxon ) the fuse under the bonnet blows. When i
disconnect the horn and push the button on my steering wheel to horn the
    fuse still blows ??

    3. The heather does only work when i put the switch in position 4, i know
there must be a resitor in my car to do position 1,2 and 3 but where is it ?

    thanks in advance

  2. 1 Flasher maybe or new allarm switch (genuine or not genuine)
2 Maybe a wire problem.....the horn has to do with ground - and not
possitive+ so you may have wire problem or horn relay problem
3 The resistor is near the heater fan as a part or maybe cpl with the
    fan ....depends from your model

If you may send me your chassis number i will be able to inform you
for all of the usefull infos of how to and part availability in
    genuine and not genuine

Pressing the button disables the interior movement sensors. It flashes
for a while after being pressed and you have to lock the car within
this time. It is probably this

Does the light flash when the car is locked without pressing it?

The light should flash once the car is locked to show the alarm is
    set.

I would test the alarm by locking it with the window open. Try waving
your hand inside and see if that sets it off both with and without
    pressing the button first.

Also try opening the door but don' dead lock it first. Just one click
    on the remote will do.
