Astra Auto Performance

Hi Everybody
I have a 1.6 Astra Club Auto which is now I year old.Has any other owners of
the same model got any feedback on the overall performance of there car? I
had the basic Astra before this one and and found it to be a lot smoother
drive and more 'GO'. Any views would be appreciated.

I've got a low mileage 2000 1.6 petrol Astra Club Auto estate. Prior to
this I drove a 2.2 litre Honda Auto Accord (estate ) Aerodeck. There's no
doubt in my mind that the Astra beats the Accord in normal driving - the
speeds at which the gear-box changes down for more umph are simply better
suited to the speeds I find on my local M1 and dual carriageways. On the
other hand, when I occasionally flatted the accelerator in the Accord it
took off and kept going faster... ...but for everyday use etc. the Astra
wins, although body roll is more pronounced.

And so far, the Astra hasn't broken down.
